We stopped in to see Bob and Nancy again yesterday afternoon. Bob's brother and sister-in-law were there too. Bob had a chemo treatment earlier in the afternoon so he was pretty tired and his throat was sore and dry. We didn't stay long because he was trying to talk and it was obviously causing some discomfort. One more week of the chemo and radiation combination, then three more weeks of radiation only. Although the radiation treatments will be daily on weekdays, Bob is planning to do daily trips and avoid any overnight stays during this phase.
They're both in great spirits and always have big smiles for anyone who walks into the room. It's a very positive attitude from them and anyone we've talked with when we visit. It's still a serious situation but I honestly believe Bob is winning and will beat this. We're looking forward to Spring so we can all get back into the swing of things.
Please continue to send your Best Wishes and encouragement. These folks are worth our time, efforts and Prayers!

Oh, one more thing. They found out New Years Eve they're gonna be Grandparents again.

Has anyone out there talked to Bob this week? I saw him Sunday after all his family had gone. He is trying to keep his spirits up, but his routine is very hard. We did not have school today, too much snow, and wind chill was too cold as our school is out in the middle of nowhere, BUT, if they cancel again tomorrow (possible WIND CHILL 40 BELOW) I am headed to ST. JOHNS HOSPITAL in SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS, AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT ONE TO THE BANK!!!!! Keep on fighting BOB.....WE all got your back......The journey will be long and hard, but I have been lucky and you will be too...... You did know didn't you........GOD drives a CHEVY !!!! Keep calling and emailing Bob if you can.....We're ALL in this together as this could happen to any of US!!!!!!! OH, and you guys that are having fun in ARIZONA at B.J. I'm watching for you on T.V. and am VERY JEALOUS !!! n. gibb

Update on "Bob Lionberger": Bob and Nancy headed back down to Springfield this morning, Monday the 18th. He will have routine blood work etc. and RADIATION today and tomorrow, then he and Nancy will begin their driving back and forth EVERYDAY, Wednesdays,Thursdays, and Fridays,I believe for at least the next 4 weeks. It is at least a 2 or 2 1/2 hour drive EACH way with dry roads. PLEASE keep them in your prayers for their safe travel, and Bob's healing.... We will all be thinking of you Bob...even when we can't be there with you.... n.g.

Hang in there Bob, and get well soon. Warm weather and show/race season is just around the corner and it would not be the same with out you and the rest of the LaHarpe gang.
