The Z/L1 #1 launch is a new pic to me. I am assuming that is dated 1969 cause the car graphics look pretty tame. Who is driving? Herb?

This is the coolest thread ever! Come on Dennis post the pics! Hey I posted the Denny Terrio pic of my pops. ( I would have posted pics of my self back then but I was not there.) How much worse than that can it get?

Not sure who was driving in that picture but pretty sure it's not Herb. Looks way too big for him.. It's a very early picture of the car since it's still sporting the first paint scheme.

I'll see what I can find. I know I have some shots of the car sitting on the starting line at the strip we used to run. It still has the '70 plates on it.

Patience, Grasshopper!

Bill,
Ken can fill you in on the history of Lil' Hoss better than I, but yes, it did have the knock-off's on the front also. That was the race configuration back then as well as it's current look. I agree, COOL!

Kim,
If you're referring to the shot of "Hoss" while it's still in Royal Plum colors, the line-up left to right is Herb, Fred and Mr. Chevrolet Himself.

Just happen to have one more. Can't give any history myself so feel free to chime in if you recognize something.

I received this picture from the original owner of my 68 Z. I always wondered why a car with 21,000 miles needed to be repainted and this answered my question.

Dennis
We don't want to see your ugly mug,(Move over Nick Nolte)
but post those Jan.1974 pictures.
Only an original owner would have ones like that!

This is a 69 RS built/raced by Chuck Wright, Tiretown Rat......He also did some work on the #1 Zl-1 a longtime ago...The other car in the shot is a 68 Hemi Cuda..."Al's Toy".
