I hadn't really posted much about the car, as a result of the circumstance it is finding it's way back to me. When I sold the car back in 2022, the buyer came over to the shop from Windsor, ON to inspect it. Bob (the buyer) is a very sharp individual and extremely passionate about the hobby. We spent a few hours together while he was inspecting the car, and really hit it off quite well. In short order, we became friends. When Bob came down to MCACN, he'd always get ahold of me for a visit and some BS. We would talk on the phone here and there, trade a text, or email back and forth. I regretted selling the car, and would periodically nudge him to see if he was done with it
Bob also was a frequent and well respected contributor on Bring a Trailer during the Pontiac auctions.Bob got ahold of me a few weeks ago and informed me he had a terminal cancer diagnosis. He had been dealing with it for about 6 months. I gathered the treatments were not going well. So.... Bob offered the car back to me. It certainly is a bittersweet scenario. Bob had told me (as well as a few of his closer friends) this one was his favorite. We spoke on this past Monday, as getting the car picked up proved to be a bit of a frustrating task. Bob had entrusted a good friend of his to be the pick up contact and to handle the transporter. Sadly, Bob passed this past Tuesday. I must admit I am disappointed, because Bob wanted to see the car go. I guess that was just not made to work out. The car did get picked up today, so it can start it's journey back to Boulder Junction, WI. Attached, is a pic Bob sent me to let me know the car was ready and waiting for me. RIP Bob, I'll catch you on the other side my friend |

Sorry to hear about your friend Tim but congratulations on getting the Trans Am back. I've had three 71/72 TA's over the years, they do everything well and are one of my all-time favorite muscle cars.

Oh man. I can see how this deal was bittersweet. RIP Bob and congrats on owning the car again.
I would imagine owning it this time is a little more special.

That's a very sad story, Tim. I'm glad the car is in good hands and I'm sure Bob is, also.

Can't have better history than this one. I'm neither a Trans Am guy nor a 2nd-Gen F-body guy, but this car is COOL.

After a month of trying to navigate transport issues, the TA arrived back in the shop on Tuesday night. It's nice to get reacquainted with an old friend. I'll change out all of the fluids (as it's been 5 years for the coolant and brake fluid) and hit the road as soon as they are clean.

The timeline was rather confusing to come into way late, but I finally figured it out. Sorry as well to hear the PO has passed. You, obviously, held a special place with Bob for him to offer it to you first.
Rather surprised you didn't go retrieve it when the shipping issues came up, but you have been a busy fellow. If you ever need a driver give me a call, still carry a class A with doubles/triples and tanker endorsements...
