I just discovered I have a decent original trunk under a rattle can spatter paint spray job. Has anyone ever tried to remove that stuff? Water seems to soften it pretty well. Any suggestions to remove it without damaging the original paint would be appreciated.

Try soap and water . Most are water base that you have to clear. If it hasen't been cleared its a breeze. Spray nine and a scrub brush !!!!! Jim
