Can you tell if a 396 with the casting 3935440 is a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main. Besides the main caps is there any cosmetic difference.

i thought the 4 bolt had the oil galley drilled out on the side of the block....recall this somewhere when i was seaching for my block.

Thank you very much. I got a complete 68 396 with the chevelle I just bought and I just wanted to know if it was a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main without moving the oil pan. Thanks again

How do you explain the fact that I have two 4-bolt main blocks with the small "oil holes" ?
