Default Chevy II Help!!

I came across a nice ChevyII today for sale. I could use some help from the board. 80,000 mile car. Vin# 118376M.

Said to be original engine. 283 Turbo Fire 195 Horsepower on air cleaner. 4-speed car. On fire wall tag says:

General Motor Corp R
ST Body
TR 01C
66-11837 NOR 67636 F-F Paint
737-B
W2LR
On top of block the # FI127PL is stamped behind the water pump. Car is very straight and clean. 3 owner car. I would like to buy it as a weekend car. Can someone help with info provided and possible value. Thanks, Patrick

Default Re: Chevy II Help!!

Patrick,

01C = January, 3rd week vehicle assembly date
66-11837 = 66 Chevy II SS, 8 cyl.
FF = Marina blue paint upper & lower
737B = Bright blue vinyl bucket seat interior
W2LR = ???????
F1127PL:
F = Flint MI engine assembly plant
1127 = November 27th engine assembly date
PL = 195 hp 283 w/ 4 speed transmission.

I suspect a typo on the vin; it should be 118376Wxxxxxx, not 118376Mxxxxxx

Sounds like a nicely equipped car! Hope you get it. My guess on value is $18K - $20K if it's nice.
