Default radiator ripoff

My brother and i took two radiators to what we thought was a reputable shop. My rad was a 69 z and his was a 67 big block. His had been recored around ten years back when i did his car. It was just dripping every once in a while and mine was from the z i just picked up in dec. the brackets needed to be put back on but no real visible damage. I asked them to pressure test to see if it was leaking and solder the brackets back on. My brothers was only leaking around the bottom where the tank was soldered to the core. They had them for a month then we got a call an they said they were both junk. The tanks were junk and the cores were junk too. Before picking them up we had found another rad shop for a 2nd opinion.
when we picked them up they handed me my rad from the back side and I didnt see they dug out a hole in it. I laid it in the car the same way. then we traveled to the next shop. I got it out and walked into the place and the guy said who the hell did that. I couldn't believe what i was seeing, so now it really needs a core. We left my brothers rad there to be repaired. He got a call from them in a couple days and his rad is repaired for only 200.00 I'm not going to name the 1st shop but they had moved from around the Centerville Md. area to Glenburnie Md. so be aware. I never dreamed my rad would come back like that. Even if it was that bad I think they should have called and discussed the issues with me
