1969 L78 396/375HP & L72 427/425HP Distributor 1111499 Dated 9D28

This is an original 1111499 distributor which was used on 1969 L78 396/375HP and L72 427/425HP engines. The date code is 9 D 28 which decodes as April 28th, 1969. These factory high performance distributors were routinely replaced with aftermarket performance distributors as day 2 performance parts and most of the originals were tossed out long ago. These originals have become very hard to find. Don't miss this nice original example.

This distributor is in good unrestored condition as shown. I see no breaks or repairs to this unit. The stampings are intact and easy to make out as shown. There is some oxidation right on the part numbers and pitting on the very bottom of the housing in the same area. I used some vinegar and #0000 steel wool to lightly clean some of the staining off the stamp. It will probably clean up more but I did not to clean it too much. The advance cam is stamped 732 CCW. The vacuum advance appears to be a replacement. This distributor turns smoothly with no binding or sloppiness. The wire that hooks up to the coil is intact with the factory crows foot connector as shown. This is a very nice factory high performance distributor.
