Stunning! Love that they left the original finishes in places.

beautiful. Wow, with those gears, you could let the clutch out in first without hitting the gas at all

A friend had a Red/Black interior LS-6 4- speed Conv, from 1971 till late 1972 We used to street race with it around Boston Mass. used to break valve springs alot, I put a new clutch in it a my friends gas station the car would only take off on level ground the clutch was so worn out. No power steering & AM 8 track tape player radio. He offered the car to me for $ 2,500 in late 1972 but i declined because i had a new 1973 Corvette on order, A short while later the car was stolen and set on fire.

The car i spoke of had a dealer emblem on the trunk lid Jake Kaplan Prov. RI I also remember it did not have power steering it was tough to parallel park it. He would leave the car with me while he was at work sometime so i could work on it . We were both 21 years old at the time

----This LS6 was at MCACN in the Mecum display! Rogers restorations are always gorgeous! The Bill McGraw mentioned in the Mecum add used to super tune my 66427/425 Corvette when he worked for Bob McDorman Chevrolet. When I bought Red Alert it had 5,38's in the original rear. The car ran thru the traps at about 7400rpm but the engine made its best power at 7000. Went back to a 5.12 and, with that engine and 32 inch 14 slicks it was the perfect combo (785 hp from my Reids Automotive 100 over 454).....Bill S
