Default Selling a car on eBay?

Tried listing my SS on eBay and it wouldn’t let me post the ad without having ebay handle the payments? WTF? I’m not letting eBay handle tens of thousands of my dollars! I guess this is one of the reasons that Bring a trailer is getting so popular.

eBay now handles the money transactions. No more PayPal etc. sucks but it’s their ballpark so gotta play by their rules..

I buy very little on ebay anymore and haven't sold anything in years, because of their iron fist control of how I can sell MY stuff. Screw them.

Hi guys,

I still use eBay quite a bit for selling (set prices, not auction) vehicles. I can host hundreds of photos and embed HD videos at no extra charge. I'm not shilling for eBay, but just explaining why I still use their format.

The actual exchange of funds on a vehicle sold through eBay is still between the buyer and seller only. The deposit, if the Buy It Now is clicked, can be handled through eBay or still through PayPal, depending on how you set up your listing.

I've sold two vehicles this month on eBay and have two more listed now, so unless something has changed in the last several days, I believe my information to be accurate.

I hope this helps a bit, although I do want to try BAT with my low mileage '84 Hurst Olds. I hear their waiting period is 6-8 WEEKS, though...

Jeff

My truck was just over 5 weeks and I was told just under 3 when I paid for the listing.

From what I've heard a lot of highest bidders on Ebay back out.I got real lucky selling my '70 Nova 6 years ago.Put it for sale here on the site and a dealer in Kansas City bought it.He saw the pics,we exchanged a few emails and the money was in my account next day.Never even talked to him!I overnighted him the signed ownership and a transport picked it up a week later.

Thanks for your input guys! My SS is staying put for now. I was only considering selling to buy my old Black 67 Z back, but talks have stalled. Started getting the car ready for a drive today after winter storage 😀
