Default 1969 COPO Chevelle 410 rear end

Hello all, Just joined. I am looking at a 69 COPO and checking the
numbers on the rear end. The car has a build date of 07 E in Balt.
The rear end is stamped KQ, with a date 07 2 B
The casting # is 3969278, which is according to my research a 70-72
casting #. There is no casting date on the web opposite the casting #.
Looks peculiar. Is it possible GM used a 1970 pumpkin w/o a casting
date for this 69 COPO? Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave, Welcome aboard.

Are you looking at and referring to the Green on Green COPO Chevelle that is Currently on EBay?

Dave, I just posted on this on TC. I'd question everything about that rear until you find the center section date casting.

They don't seem to have any back ground on the car. Anyone out there know of it?

Is KQ a correct code for a COPO Chevelle? Were the BE rear ends just Camaros?

According to Chevelle stuff.com, KQ is a COPO Chevelle Code

I don't see many Chevelle axles, but that stamp font looks off.

427king, just wondering why that KQ doesn't have an E on it? Didn't the COPO get the special Eaton Posi and didn't rear ends with the Eaton get stamped with an E? I'm still learning a lot about stampings and codes.
