Default Day at the shop...

Spent some time at the shop today getting the children uncovered and organized. The endless procession of registration and inspection stickers, batteries, fluid and tire pressure checks are part of the process.

The flagship tuxedo black 70 L78 4 speed hasn't been outside since 2014...it was great to take her out for a spin. I love that car

So Sammy, they are all out of their sleeping bags and will get some fresh air as often as possible. Next job are the oil changes, detailing and maybe some 'tire/wheel swapping for a new look.

Wilma

Yes...that's the Bob Ashton 'less than 1/4 of tank' sticker

Driving that car is a trip...22,000 original miles...all I did today was take off the cover and wipe off the film of garage dust. I did take the coil wire off and spin it till we had oil pressure before starting...need to be kind to the old girl

It will be out again real soon.

They look great Tom for coming out their hibernation. Hopefully the weather plays ball and you can stretch their legs!

In New York, you can use plates from the year of the vehicle. It is a one year registration instead of two for regular cars and the car need only pass a safety inspection annually. Toms cars would have the blue a plates with orange numbers used from 66 to 73. You need the old style registration sticker that goes in the corner of the rear plate. Very retro looking. Not really any cheaper, but you notice it right away. The blue plate on my 69 Z/28 is 302. No letters, just 302. Someone on eBay is trying to sell a set of NY plates "290" for like $1100! That is the horsepower rating for the Z/28, but it ain't worth $1100!

There are lots of things to spend money on...not sure new plates that cost more than the ones we have are needed at the moment. I guess the retro plates would look cool...but, you can't see them from the front seat
