Came across this on a Facebook page the gentlemen that owns it was looking for some history on this car. I immediately remembered going to get ice cream in this badazz muscle as a very young kid. My father use to say son that cars got such a big cam they have to run a vacuum canister in order to have brakes at an idle. Lots of memories. So I was able to get the owner in touch with the late owners Son and daughter which they thought the car had been parted out and crushed. Very glad the cars being saved. Just thought I'd share it with you gentlemen

Very glad this car surfaced and the story is being told. Sometimes the self-proclaimed "experts" hear about cars such as this and try to debunk their very existence. And then all of a sudden a real, honest-to-goodness specimen comes along and puts egg on their face! It would be not only neat, but helpful to document all the initial differences from the '69 to '70 changeover. Thanks for posting and sharing. I think the oldtimers understand my point.

Neat car alright.
This car was discussed quite awhile back on Team Chevelle. The owner sent me pics of the interior parts that had some pilot tags on them. ![]() |

A quick little story about this car. My father told me he bought a 70 442 w30 car off of the Neihbor for $50 because the guy couldn't get the fan belt pulleys lined up and It kept throwing the belts off. So my dad says Mike I had it going down the road in a half hour after getting it home. So he pulls up to the stop light and he hears something pretty roody coming up behind him and it was Chuck (the owner of this Chevelle) at that time and chuck was pretty proud of his Chevelle my Dad said Mike the light turned green we both shoved the gas pedals to the floor and my $50 car left that Chevelle like it was standing still. They met back up at the little local burger joint ( which is still there today) Telways. My Dad said Chuck was pissed his car just got beat. My Dad said right before this happened Ramchargers had just built the nasty 396 that was in it.

The car is owned by David H. and like RixLS6 said it was discussed on Team Chevelle. Many people did not believe the stories behind the car while I was intrigued by them and they did their typical on line poopooing (new word). It has many one off parts on it which have hand written part numbers on them. The rear seat arm rests are made from metal and covered in vinyl unlike production cars that were made from plastic. There are many items on the car like this as well as some incorrect items like the dash. David will be here in the shop this Friday as I had to postpone his last visit. Neat car and very down to earth and humble owner.
