Default Cheater Slicks?

I've heard that the M&H Racemaster cheater slicks with the two grooves aren't like the old ones? What's the difference? I haven't seen a pair of the originals and I'm curious.

Those are the tires

these are closer to the older style with the "M" over the "H". The original ones that I have seen had smaller "M" and "H" letters than these and many were white letters. There are some smart dudes on this site that know a lot more than I, so I suggest you wait for them to chime in.....

Look closely at the tires on this beast...

But if I'm not mistaken those aren't street legal.

If street legal is what you want, I had these (235/60) on my car for a while this summer:

https://www.cokertire.com/tires/styl...ear-tires.html

At 25 psi, they drive like normal radials on dry highway. I couldn't tell I was on "race" tires. They still have the classic M&H font on the sidewall, and squared edges, but the tread gives them away.

Here is a pic on my car. They hook!

I have a pair like Sam posted mounted on Cragar SS wheels and love them.. They ride nice also.. The fonts in the letters on the originals are smaller than the new ones plus I have seen the letters whited out on most of the old ones.. Most folks don't realize these differences. I had lots of people at car shows think the newer slicks were in fact old ones...

Hmmmm, maybe at some point I'll throw a pair on the Camaro. Odds of issues from cops are low anyway.

make sure you check size, fit and what wheel size/offset you will be using before you buy.

I don't think you will have a problem with the fuzz.. Just don't get caught in the rain with them.. It's like driving on ice!! I think you will like them.. They have a great look...

Yeah. Won't buy them for a while. No money to. But I'm sure I'd like them.
