69 Nova SS Front Bumper filler Paint Color.

Hello,

On the top side of the front bumper has the filler piece. Need to know what the proper color is of this so the body man/painter can get this finished in the proper color. I know its not the body color.

I thought it was Argent Silver or something like that.

You are right...It is Argent Silver.

Things have progress pretty good. Fathom Green looks pretty dark in that lighting, but is the code as provided by a local member here.

I will let the bodyman/painter know it Argent Silver. Thanks for your help.

Darcy, it is Argent, but it is not a gloss. It's more satin/flat. Remember this was laquer in the day, sprayed on plastic. I'm not sure if it was flattened, or the laquer was absorbed by the plastic, and not buffed. With bc/cc you'll probably want to knock the shine off with a mat clear, or use a single stage flattened.

The last couple I did I used some acrylic enamel. It sprays out somwhat like lacquer and the sheen is perfect, not urethane glossy.

I have a brand new one NOS.still in the GM box, I will check the color on it, haven't looked at it for 15 years.

I have two NOS 3919083 fillers. Both are silver/Gray, can't tell, AF Docs said I'm color blind. Anyway, could the correct color be the color out of the box? Here's a few pics from one of mine:

No they aren't the correct color out of the box, they come molded gray and must be painted silver.
