Default Wild AZ Weather!!!

This is why I live in AZ...NOT!!!

Early afternoon rotation in the clouds...a harbinger of things to come!

First video...Bill Eaton thinks it's a downburst (I have no clue, but it looked a lot like a wall cloud at certain times)

Click to play the video (and to listen to me be stupid)

Next video...rather large hail going into the pool (and me warning Lynn to stay away with her car!)Click picture to play video

And finally, the size of the hail that was all over the back yard! (Kinda like Oklahoma weather...LOL)

HA! Classic video. Just another day of life in the midwest. We get these kinds of storms all the time out here though admittedly it has been quite awhile since I seen hail that size. That storm is actually quite docile looking compared to many of the ones we get out here. Temperature drops 10-20 degrees and the wind picks up considerably. They are often times refered to as horizontal tornados or squall lines. I normally crack open a beer and pull up a chair next to the picture window. I think Reid can relate (without the beer).

Bruce is a classic case of "Do as I say not as I do!"

Are you sure Howie wasn't in the neighborhood? That looks like the black cloud that follows him around.

I gotta admit I'm like Rick. When bad storms roll through I usually hang out on the porch and watch them. Fascinating stuff!
Any damage Bruce?

No damage...for us. Lots of damage around here though. I put my truck in the garage early in the morning....during round 1. We ended up having 8 storms roll through here...

And it isn't over yet! Confirmed touchdown of a tornado at a bit past 5am in a suburb of Flagstaff called Bellemont. (Trains derailed, etc)

Another exciting day in AZ....

The severe storms are only about 8 miles away now...LOL They are "backing up" into the valley. Here we go again

By the way, there were two confirmed tornadoes near Flagstaff...and I40 is closed down now...semi trucks overturned, WOW!

I should wear a helmet...those large hailstones HURT!

this storm plus the storm that was here for the auctions should be plenty to keep any more snow birds from moving to AZ ... our roads are crowded enough ...

Made for an easy nite at work for me, I just told the ops center to forget about calling me, I'm not going anywhere and went to bed. I'm not fooling around with that stuff, maybe back when I was flying with the USCG, but not now.

We almost got caught in a hellacious hail storm, luckily I found a car wash canopy to park under until it blew over, Claire's car did not get damaged. But the claims are rolling in to us at work.
