Sad but we all knew these were not rebuildable. Pontiac serviced these by just replacing the entire unit unlike the Chevrolets where they could change the clutch pack. I have gone thru (13) 4 pinion units i had here and 11 are junk / extremely wore out. 2 are marginal at best. Once again I have to buy (2) EATON 19674-010 Posi Units which have now steadily climbed to $695 plus shipping.
BEWARE of the trick wording on the Ebay Eaton "Style" units from China...Obviously not the same. I remember the Auburn Clutch style available years back but think those are a thing of the past. Any other options / ideas? Just bought an Eaton for a 68 "F" body 3.90 over the summer. I know these are proven and at the top of the heap.Just curious on others experiences. RA |

I've reconditioned several of the Borg Warner 4 pinion BOP units. They work well again after a little machine work and some shims.
