Very Cool Unrestored '67 Camaro SS, #s 350/4-sp, Owned since 1968
I'm liking the look of this one - running on ancient Firestone tires and looking generally unfluffed. Has the look of something you might have seen on a used car lot in 1975.

Hey that's in my city! I have one of those antique tags in the closet that was never put on my Camaro. Alabama has since changed the style of antique tags.

When they repainted they even painted the wheel weights.

I'm curious what makes you think it was repainted,,,,the sandblasted data plate?

I don't think the data plate was sandblasted - I think that's the white paint that they sprayed on the 67 tags for some reason. I have seen that on a lot of original 67's. Any rhyme or reason why this was done? Visibility for the assembly line workers?

The line workers could refer to the build sheet, which was certainly more visible (and more comprehensive). The cowl tag is an early version of what we now call the SPID (Service Parts ID) label. K
