Freddie,

The bracket is used to hold wiring which goes down to the starter and bolts to the back of the block in between the block and the bell housing.

Wouldn't that would cause the bell to crack from trying to bend around the tab ??
The pic seems to indicate marks from the bellhousing bolt being tightened against it.

The bracket goes under the head of the upper bell housing bolt and folds over to secure the wiring. My 68 had one on it but not sure this was used beyond 68? A hard to find part and often discarded.

Exactly, his description may confuse others.
I wouldn't mind having one for my '67, even if it isn't technically correct. I make my own brackets to secure that harness too, but it isn't that "pretty"...
