X44D80
Hey, Were all X44D80 cars Copo's?...My buddy down in Florida said he just looked at one but it now has a dana rear so looking for the BE is out, He also said it looks like the car came heater and radio delete, Im waiting for vin info..

I don't think you could get a Camaro heater delete stateside in 1969. Look for the dual exhaust hanger plate on the left rear frame rail, the firewall hole above the fuse block junction for the factory cowl hood wiring and the motor mount frame stand #'s. He said its got the hanger plate but you could order any car with dual exhaust so that dont help, the heater thing is interesting though...I didnt know that..Maybe its an export?

I think that Ed is right on the heater delete.
I believe you should be able to verify the radio delete by checking the chassis ground strap holes, to see if they ever had screws run into them. Also original engine frame mounts have different part numbers from the replacement OTC parts. Just from personal experience, I have not seen a X44D80 car that was not a COPO. But, since I haven't seen every X44D80 car anything is possible. Eric |

X44 is just a base car, could be anything from a 6 banger to a 350. D80 was the spoiler option, also available on any Camaro.
Check the build date against the VIN. X codes didn't start until December. Having an X11 or X44 means nothing about the motor in the car, as these are both trim codes, but there does not seem to be any rhime or reason about the D80 getting stamped on the trim tag. Lots of cars ordered with the spoiler didn't have the D80 on the trim tag.
