1969 Hurst Olds- a purpose built car
Talk about a long winding journey to produce these special cars....

Man, those are some of my favorite muscle cars ever, and you just don't see enough of them.

You weren't at Mecum Indy then-there were four. For reasons I can't quite comprehend, Mecum had 4 essentially similar (nice but not awesome) '69 H/O's at the auction and scheduled ALL FOUR to go across the block on Friday.

----Back in that era I was living mostly in Ft. Liquerdale. There was a local fireman that had a 69 and he changed the gold trim color every year. The 1st year he did it candy apple orange. the next year candy lime. I lost track of the car after that last change. Car was always immaculately clean, and he never changed anything else "wheels etc."...….Bill S

That's a pretty neat idea Bill. How did it look with those different colors?

----Looked pretty cool, Mark. I forgot to mention that the candy lime version also had spider webbing laid over the top of it. I actually liked it the best!......Bill S

That's right down my alley! Would love to have seen it. I'm a huge fan of those psychedelic 70's paint jobs with the endless lines, panel paint, spider webbing, lace patterns, the paint drops (forget what they're called), etc..
