After researching, I can't find the answer (or maybe I can't find the answer I want). Anyhow, here it is. According to everything I have read, in 1968 a grotto blue Camaro would have recieved white accent striping if so ordered. In the situation of a marina blue or bolero red car if the car had a black vinyl top the stripes would have been black. Is that the case with the grotto blue cars as well? Or would a grotto blue car with black vinyl top and medium blue interior have had white SS stripes? I can't get used to the thought of that, just doesn't seem right. Is it? HELP?!

Red was the only 68 color that the top choice affected the stripe color.

They contradict themselves. The table shows what you say to be true, but then as you read on.....you find this "Stripe colors (white or black, with red added in 1969, and pace cars being a special exception) were selected based on body color. There were three color combination exceptions to this in 1967-68 where top color overrode that selection". I know that two of the three color combination exceptions are bolero red and marina blue. This is according to page 28 of the Camaro Restoration Guide, by Jason Scott. However....can anyone tell me what the paint codes are for marina blue and bolero red on a 1968 Camaro? RIGHT! They aren't options! So, could it have been the rule for grotto blue (D2) and matador red (R2) cars with vinyl tops? See my confusion?!

Whatever you wish to believe.
The table shows marina blue and red in 67, red only in 68. And so does factory documentation, which was the data used to generate the table.
