That would be the fuel tank gauge lead. The rubber end goes on the terminal on top of the fuel tank sending unit. The plastic clip end goes up through a hole in the trunk near the filler neck area and connects to a clip on the tail light harness.

i have seen that on my car but i am at work and cannot get to look at my car. I know the middle is a rubber gromet but I can not think at this time what it fits. It will come to me when I get home.

That is what it is, round fitting goes on sending unit. That will save my brain working overtime thinking about what it fits.
