They used to to that at the Reno Air Races. Not the wives thing, the drop-a-car thing. They dropped a '64 Chevy 4-door one year. It must have come out of a wrecking yard because all the accumulated dust and dirt made a comet's tail as it descended. Great thud when it hit. Another year they dropped a school bus! Man, that thing teeter-tottered on one end and then the other end as it fought the air on the way down, dirt trailing above. It hit with a wonderful WHOOOM and the crowd loved it. Dropping stuff from helicopters is always a crowd pleaser.
