Here's a start:

Would have to be a a late build date, 06x
*Either 96 or R A heads
*M21 Tranny, FX code
*Engine should be "WU"
*Rearend is either ZP or ZR
*Carb should be 7028273
*Get PHS docs for the car...

If it is a II, run don't walk to this car...

Mike

Additionally, I believe it needs to have a build date of at least April. But don't diss it if it is a RAI car!

Back in '68 I had a Ram Air I Firebird. I read somewhere that there were less than 100 of these with the automatic. There was a pan attached to the underside of the hood and a breather something similar to the '70 SS Chevelle piece. There were no flappers to open and close the ram air intake as on later cars. The engine was blanced and blueprinted. There wasn't anything more, at the time, that you could do and still call it stock. In its day, it was a pretty decent performer beating an L72 powered '68 Chevelle on one occasion. I never did see a RA II car but there was a RA I 4 speed car in the area. Either Ram Air car would be nice. Send me your e-mail address Andy and I'll send you some photos.

Keith, you're dead on...

RAI Auto = 92
RA1 Manual = 321
RAII Auto = 12
RAII Manual = 98

This includes all body styles. The RAII Firebirds are arguably some of the fastest 1/4 mile cars Pontiac ever built.

Keith, I sent you a PM with my email addy...If possible, I would like to see those pics!!

Andy, a numbers matching 400 4sp is a great find in itself...let us know how you make out.

Thanks,

Mike

Are you saying you delayed viewing it for a day because of the rain and you lost out on it ?
