Does anybody have information on how many '69 COPO camaros were hugger orange, and how many '69 COPO camaros came with RS equipment? I bought an orange X11 car back in July '06, thinking it was possibly an RS/SS 350 car. A prior owner had the protect-o-plate which revealed my car to be a COPO. Any help would be appreciated.

![]() I take it the orig. eng. and trans are long missing but is the BE rear still w/ it? . Besides the pics, it may be best to lay the Vin out here and see if there's any chance of orig. parts known? . Is it an auto or stick car? . ~ Pete ![]()

The car was bought new from Carter Chevrolet in Bonham, Tx. I already called them looking for documentation, and they only keep records for 15 years. When I bought the car, I noticed the curved-neck radiator, heater box and motor mounts, but assumed someone had tried to clone something somewhere down the line. I got more suspicious when I realized the tach only came in either 375 horse 396 cars or COPOs, and upon closer inspection the heater box had never been removed. A previous owner had the owner's manual and POP, but it took me 6 months to get it. For some reason, he gave me the biggest run-around.
Yes, the engine is long gone. The trans is a T-10 replacement, and someone swapped the rear-end, haven't found out who yet. The vin# is 124379N660445. It's a stick shift in the floor car. More later. |
