Default 69 Camaro Wheel Options

I was doing some more reminiscing and thought of this item. Early in 1969 I went into the local Chevy Dealer to trade in my 69 307 Malibu (only owned for about three months) for something a little hotter. There on the lot was a new 69 RS/SS 350 Camaro in Lemans Blue, White hockey stick stripe, White vinyl top, Blue deluxe interior and white lettered Tiger Paws which I ended up buying. The wheels were Black painted, fitted with full wire wheel covers. Certainly different from the norm as most SS's had Rally Wheels, SS five spokes or dog dish.

Anyway, in the 37 years since then I do not believe I have ever seen another 69 SS Camaro with wire wheel covers. Just wondering if others on here have seen many with those wheel discs?

In 1976, I had a 69 RS that had the wire wheel covers. There was a 3 spoke "spinner" with a Chevy emblem in the center. If you unbolt the spinner from the back, it will bolt right up to a 67 flat Rally wheel center cap base.I see these covers on Ebay sometimes. They are great looking covers.

I have docs on several 69 SS's with P01 caps. You're right, there weren't that many built though and most people change them out.

Ya Kurt, probably a very small percentage came that way. Sure don't see any these days.
