Check out the rereleased intake being auctioned as an original COPO/LS6 intake.
![]() http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4642666054 I remember buying one a few years ago from White Allen for under $200. Has anyone bought one lately. Aren't these intake still on some GM HO crate engine? Later, |

Yes, I agree. Got some bad-a$$ orange overspray on that
intake - huh? ![]() Sellers description: ALUMINUM LS-6 G.M. COPO INTAKE, G.M.#3933163, CAME OFF MY 70 CHEVELLE LS-6 MOTOR. GREAT CONDITION, NO STRIPPED THREADS OR CRACKS. YOU WILL LOVE THIS INTAKE. NO DISAPPOINTMENTS. a) It didn't come stock on your 1970 LS-6 motor. The seller wisely omits that tid-bit. b) NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! Yeah, unless some poor unknowing bidder wins it and later finds out it is the new version of the '163 intake. c) A slight triviality. This hi-rise intake didn't come on the LS-6's anyway. Buyers beware....... ![]() ![]() Steve

Steve,
The seller sent this first reply, and states that it was off of a car that he knows the full history of. What a bunch of BS. His replies kept getting more vulgar and threatening and I had to turn them in to Ebay. Response from 2stevemoney 2stevemoney( 106) Positive Feedback: 96.5% Member Since: Mar-12-00 Location: IN, United States Registered On: www.ebay.com Item: INTAKE,CHEVELLE NOVA VETTE 5 BIG BLOCK CHEVY LS-6 COPO (4642666054) This message was sent while the listing was active. 2stevemoney is the seller. sorry, get out your chevy by the numbers. this intake came off a 70 chevelle ls-6 454 motor, i knew the complete history of the car and motor. this is not a re-pop, so bite me. I wonder if he will get any bids at all. I hate it when people mislabel items on purpose looking for suckers to buy them. Later, Eric |

It probably DID come off of the LS-6 in his '70 chevelle; unfortunately the LS-6 was evidently a crate motor. Great high-rise (usually cheap) rectangle intake - just not for the restoration crowd.

For those of us who have little or no big block experience, what is the difference between this new version and a vintage piece?

Lynn,
The Winters foundry mark is in a different location. Original intakes have the "W" on the #1 intake runner and the newer released intakes have the "W" on the #2 runner. Both intakes use the same casting number. An easy spot. Eric |

Lynn,
Another "easy spot" is the roughness of the casting skin on the newer '163 intakes. The originals were smoother. In response to the sellers comments, I hate arrogant liars. No LS-6 came with a '163 intake from the factory. They were into the lower rise intakes by then. Bite who? ![]() Steve

Like Bigchevydaddy said: "the LS-6 was evidently a crate motor".
My LS-6 crate-motor came with the #163 intake.
