I think that's a Pontiac prefix,as they did use that block too.
It would decode as:
K=McKinnon Industries engine plant
04=April
24=day
CBC=1972 Firebird code
N=Norwood assembly plant
600758=758th unit produced at Norwood,they started at 600001.
I'm not up on the Pontiacs much.
What's the complete block casting date on the back lip?
I realize this may not be correct as a 1972 Firebird used a 250 CID V6 for CBC callout.
Are you certain about the CBC prefix?

C8C is a '79 LM1 350-4Bbl. . Aren't all the engines w/ the small pad 76/77 and up? ~ Pete

I also herd a '8' inch balancer could lead a 350 to be a 4 bolt main is this true ? I have never pulled pan of motor yet. I thought engines with the small pad could have been produced in ‘70 and up, im not to shure Thank you for all your help

If that is a Pontiac engine then the con vin should read 29N600758 instead of 79N600758

First digits = GM division
1 - Chev
2 - Ponitac
3 - Buick
4 - Olds
5 - GMC

C8C - 1979 350-170hp LM1 F-body, my parts book says Camaro
