Default Stewart Warner 970-B Pedestal Tach

I am looking to buy/trade for a Stewart Warner 970-B (Custom Face - Green line) pedestal tach. I may have a MINT 977-J black face SW pedestal tach for trade or trade plus cash for the custom face tach. The 970-B tach needs to be in near mint or better shape.
Thanks...

Feel free to correct me if I don't have the part numbers correct for the tachs

"All I want for Christmas is a COPO or Yenko..." Isn't that a little too much to ask for Fred???

Does the 970 B require a transmitter /sending unit for the tach? Also, is anyone aware how to get the front face (plastic lens off)??

Yes, all 970 model tachometers require a sending unit to operate. If it is a pedestal tach, the entire outer chrome bezel is pressed on and has little bumps to hold it to the main case... You will see where the bumps are from the outside, as there are dimples visible on the outside chrome outer ring... sometimes the ring can be pulled off by hand, but usually you'll need to "knock" it off... Use a screwdriver with some tape wrapped around the tip to prevent scratching, and give it a light tap, the whole lense and outer ring should pop off, and the plastic lense can then be removed from the backside...just be careful....

Joe, thanks for the advise...i see the dimples and will work the cover off. Reasin i asked is that the 2nd owner of my non coverted copo just sent to me the pedestal tach and the SW oil gauge. He indicated that when they went to pick up the car at Yenko new (he and the first owner were friends) the SW pedestal tach and the gauges were already installed in the car....obviously the motor was not swapped out yet. Anyhow he sent me the parts and some pics of it in the early yrs. When we restore it, we will put the Tach and Gauges back in. The lens has a few marks that need to be buffed out. Ill look around for the correct sending unit. Thanks again for the advise.
