Recently I have been discussing the the possible whereabouts of some rare Chevy's with a good friend of mine who has been racing in the north Jersey area for about 40 years. He knew of a light blue iron 427 copo car that belonged to the son of a hardware store owner in Jersey City.He knows that the car was made into a race car and run in Modified Production back in the early 70's,but the car never ran well and he knows that it was parted out,but he thinks that the body was actually sold.I dont know what color "light blue" would be considered, but I looked at the registry and can only see a few COPO cars that were any color of blue and sold within any resonable distance of New Jersey.Has anybody heard of this car?

There were several dealers in the vicinity of J/City that sold COPO cars, Wallace Chev. in Linden, NJ usually comes to mind first. However, Malcolm Konners in Paramus, NJ as well as dealers just over the border in NY sold plenty as well - Byrne Bros. in White Plains and Roberts Chev in Hicksvill - LI, NY to name a couple. So, it's worth chasing down the lead. If the racecar was named, find out what it was - we find vendors with old photo's that give us leads on these cars, think Huckleberry Hound
