What i mean by plain jane is bench seat, dog dish hubcaps.

It really depends on your classification of 'plain jane'. I have a 69 Nova SS that came w/ rubber mats, bench seat,steelies, dog dish caps & no side moldings. The only things that let you know it's an SS is the grill, hood louvers & tail panel. Most folks consider the Gibb COPO Novas 'plain janes' as well, even though the came w/ bucket seats & console automatic.

This is pretty much what i meant by plain. My father had one exactly like how you describe this and i am trying to buy him one.

Great to hear that you are going to buy a car for your dad. I am also trying to find a car that duplicates my dad's. A 56 Chevy Belair convertible with a continental kit. The colors were black and yellow. Would rather find the same car he owned, but that would be an impossible task. He purchased his 56 right (brand new) off the showroom floor for $2,600.00

That is cool mr T wow 2600 that car is a lot more now. Well my dad got his L78 for 3077( I think that is what he told me) new He worked at the chevy dealer.
