The car with "Yenko" on the side is the '67 and is owned by a gentleman in Michigan...I believe they refer to is as the steel bodied car, since it was made from a real car. Dad's car is a '68, and was Dick's first "flip top" car, with the tube chassis and fiber body, and had courtesy on the side.

That's kind of a rough explanation, now some of you other guys who are hip to Dick's cars jump in here...

...you are correct...I looked at a photo of the car and it is a '67...not a '68
...where there any 1969 cars that were raced using that
..."YENKO" super camaro dealers.....logo on the door

No to the question about any 1969 Harrell cars bearing the Yenko logo or name. None in 1968 either. Dick was sponsored by Don Yenko for the 1967 racing season.

Dick began associating with Fred Gibb, Jr. in July of 1967, and first visited LaHarpe on August 8, 1967. He sold Fred 1967 Yenko #49, which may have been delivered on his first trip to LaHarpe.

Ed Fitzgerald was the principle behind Courtesy Chevrolet of Phoenix, with several outlets in and around LA. I am not sure of when Dick began his work with Ed, however, Dick had the Courtesy name on his 1967 car (begining late 1967), the 1968 car, (Tom's) and the Jim Kirby owned, (Matt's) Dick Harrell sponsored funnycar. Initially the Courtesy name was on his 1969 funny. Per my conversations with a Courtesy employee, who worked first hand with Dick, he visited monthly for several years, at the Phoenix location. This would have been in the time frame from of about 1967-1969. However, Dick may have been sponsored by Ed Fitzgerald, without naming rights until his death in 1971. I am not certain of many of the details of the Courtesy connection.

When Dick ran in Miami, in January or early February of 1969, Fred Gibb Chevrolet was his main sponsor, with the Gibb dealership name on the door for the remainder of the 1969 year. During the entire 1970 racing season, on both the 1969 funny, and both 1970 funnycars, the Fred Gibb dealership was the main sponsor. I have pictures from archives, and vintage magazine articles that indicate this time frame of sponsorship, however, I may not have all the details exactly as it was.

....That clears that up ...about a "Dick Harrell car
...the 1969 Dick Harrel car used the "Fred Gibb" logo

...but did any other dealership use the "YENKO" logo on their 1969 car?
