Default 69 Chevelle SS Rusting Away

Last week my 14 year old daughter told me about a Chevelle sitting in a field about a mile from home. I went to see the car and found a 69 Chevelle SS with no engine but everything else seems to be there. It is sitting on a concrete slab where there used to be a garage that burned down. I did a little checking around and found the owner. It's the same old story. He is not interested in selling because he is going to fix it up one day for his son. As it sits now, it's not too bad but in a few more years it will be too far gone. I was able to get the cowl tag info and a couple pictures. It was originally Frost Green but has been repainted black. The bench seat interior it decent. The turbo 400 is still there. The SS hood is laying on a table beside the car. It still has the SS wheels. Check the pictures.

Nice Pix.Thanks for sharing this,it looks like it has definate potential, and you know that.If you are looking for a project buyer,I am interested too.
What do you think the Horsepower of the Original engine was?Does it have a Tachometer,or can you get the 2 letter sufix off of the TH400 Trans.or rearend?
Could it still be holding a Buildsheet?

I talked to a couple other car people in the area about this car. One of them knows the owner and says that he will never do anything with the car. The car has been sitting for 7 or 8 years. The owner told me that when his Dad bought the car, the 396 was already gone. Someone had installed a 350 but it is gone now. This car will sit there until it rusts away to nothing. There is another 68-69 Chevelle sitting in the weeds about 100 feet from this one. The owner told me that it was wrecked and they stripped any good parts that were left. There may be a build sheet somewhere in the car but I doubt if the owner would let me look for it. I'll keep checking on it every few months and see if they change their mind.

Shame. I have been taking pics of cars like this for the last month or so and I'm up to 17 different makes, models of cars and it's always the same story, owner will never sell it, gonna fix it up someday! My favorite guy has a LOS 69 Camaro, plain jane, tarp car and will never sell the car but tried to get me to buy his old motorhome. He reminded me of the "Big Labowski" character on the movie. As soon as I fill up the disposable camera I'll post em.

This guy should sell the Chevelle (to someone who can restore it properly) and use the money to buy his son the fart-piped Honda Civic or '80s Chevy 4x4 the kid probably really wants.

His son is 15 or 16. The problem with these people fixing the car is they don't have the money to do it. Just to make it decent would cost $10,000 or more. It would look good sitting beside my 68 Beaumont SD. I can only hope that they will change their minds.
