Vent Surge for 69 Chevelle L78

Thanks guys, it's actually not that white, I edited the pic to brighten it up. Any ideas on where I can get a restrictor for on the top?

I used a axle tube vent still available from GM. Fits right into the top of the surge vent. Allows venting and keeps dirt out.

Actually, The restrictor for the top is nothing more than a piece of foam...similar to lawn mower filter material. A friend found a NOS one years ago...thats all it was foam...about 3/8" x 1/2". I put a piece in mine, and have had NO problems in 2 years...no leak, no fumes, no fuel tank collapse...Just my experience

I really wonder if all the 69 Chevelles got them My previous Chevelle did not have one, but I chalked it up to the fact that it had the fuel tank replaced. Now the black Chevelle I have doesn't have one either, and it is untouched. The 2 vent hoses end so close to the floor pan that there would have been no room for it, so it's not like it might have fallen off or something. I have no problem with fuel spillage or leaking or anything, so I'm leaving well enough alone.

I have two originals here that I took off of cars in the 80's.They are yellowed,but useable.They used to have a foam element inside,with a cap on it as well.
Thank Goodness for Victory Auto Wreckers near O'hare,and they still run the same commercial Today..Love the watchband dude!
