Default 68 Z28

I ordered a 68 Z28 in about April of 1968 and received it on about June 30. It was British Green without stripes, custom interior (black), quick non power steering, M21, 3.73 posi rear,AM radio. I think the VIN was 124378N145547 (not sure about the last 6 characters). Any idea if this car still exists today and how rare it was without the stripes and non power steering? I sold it in 1970 in Fulton, Miss to the Chevrolet dealer - Otis Moore.

I can say that I've never heard of a Z-28 without stripes, maybe yours was the only one? Anyone out there got any info on this?

Lots of stripe delete cars and more cars were built without power steering than with. A stripe delete car is definetly rarer than a striped Z. Sounds like a cool car, especially in british racing green.

I worked with a fellow from Coraopolis, Pa. that bought a 68 z-28, British Racing Green with stripe delete. He owned the car until a couple of years ago, I think it is in Ohio now.

124378N 1 45547 would have to be a 3 instead of a 1 for a 68. Possible 4 also.

I'm pretty sure it was standard black interior, no RS, mostly orignal paint with around 30K. He did have motor trouble with just a few thousnad miles and elected to have a LT1 put in under warranty.

About six months ago I saw a British green, stripe delete 68 Z/28 for sale on a dealer webpage. I think the dealer was in the midwest somewhere. I can't remember the name, but if I find it I'll post the link. It was for sale for quite some time.

May be the car I am referring to. The fellow is trying to sell it as a matching number car. A couple of my friends saw it at a car show in Ohio and I think it was for sale.
