I recently purchased a 1968 Camaro Funny Car, with original paint from 1968. Does anyone recognize this car and or do you have any photos of it back in the day. It was from the Louisville, KY area I think. It was at last years Funny Car Reunion and will be there this year, running it's heart out . . . that is a 482 ci Chevy Big Block . . . Running 30% Nitro. Cool piece of Camaro / Chevy Drag Racing History. Now lets see if I can get a photo or two attached.

I'm not sure what you mean about the names on the front plate? The "BONINFANTE" is a sponsor for the Funny Car Reunion. What other names were you talking about?? I did find the pictures from last years Funny Car Reunion. Bruce Larson's '68 (by the way, this car is considered a '68 as well . . .I think . . .) was there last year parked along side this car. I first saw this car 5 years ago in a barn covered with dirt and dust; but remember telling the owner, "If you ever sell it . . .Call me." Well, in December of '02, after 4 years, he called and asked if I remember the Car and if I was still interested in it. I really couldn't afford it, but I had to have it. The wife thinks I'm crazy, but my 8 year old son thinks his daddy has the coolest race car. Wait until he hears it fired up.
Here is a link to last years Funny Car Reunion in Englishtown, NJ and some cool pictures of my car and the other Funny Cars. http://www.funnycarreunion.com/photos-1.htm

Matt,
Welcome to the board, and seeing your funny, which looks to be a neat ride. Have you dug into the history of the car? Who made the chassis, what Co. the body came from? Ken Boje |
