Default Diamond Certification Question

The March feature car has a Diamond Certificate from Camaro Nationals. I have been trying to find out what it takes to achieve this. I have gone to numerous Camaro sites with no luck on specifics. Could someone direct me to the proper place or even explain it here? Thank You. Tony

I do not know were or who's club this car was awarded a Diamond certificate. The Camaro show at GM Carlisle offers this type of judging, So does the Keystone Camaro club of Western PA. The WCA was offering a Diamond type judging. I have been a Diamiond Judge at all three of these events and have never seen this car. Never has a car achieved a Diamond level at its first show at Carlise. It is a three year deal. If a car can make it it does, it has not happened yet. There have been two Diamond cars at Keystone in the past four years.
The process looks at all aspects of the car. Driveline is looked at for proper dates, finishes etc. Body for fit, finish etc. Interior for finish, dated belts, overall condition and originality. Trunk area for finish, spare, jack equipment etc. and undercarriage for finish, correct components etc. There is a mechanical part for lights, horns, engine idle etc. Points are awarded for originality and condition. Each cars total points is different. You are only judged on your car. The amount of optional equippment will affect your total points. The car is only graded against itself. This is one of the hardest judgings around at Carlisle and Keystone. If anyone wants to try this out please contact me at [email protected] There may be a few spots for Carlisle and for Keystone Camaro Club judging. It is by reservation only...BKH

1st gen was a blue 68 Yenko Camaro. Also a 1969 Yenko. 2nd gen cars include a 1979 rs with 2000 miles and a 78 Z/28 with low miles. That is from Keystone Camaro club. At Carlise GM a 69 ZL/1...BKH

Interesting topic. Brian, if a given car doesn't get enough points to achieve Diamond certification, is it awarded Gold, Silver, etc? In other words, are there different levels or is it all-or-nothing?

Dom, I did not mean that if I did not look at the car it was not Diamond quality if that is what you are trying to say. I just stated that I did not judge it. I am sorry if it was taken that way. As for levels there are four. If a car does not qualify the first time it can be brought back for two more years to attain it. If no improvement were made in a given year it is not asked to come back...BKH
