Another member of this site seen a listing in the Colorado Craigslist today saying Yenko 100 dollars. Ends up he was selling a pop from a Yenko he had bought in 69 ends up being my old Douglass Yenko. He knew nothing about the Yenko Douglass story all he knew was he had bought a Yenko Camaro back then. He was 22 when he bought the car and only kept it a little over a year. He sold it to Richards Corvette right were my last record of its location. You never know what pops up day to day. He said he was cleaning out a old file cabinet and was going to get rid of it but decided to list it.
The car was sold new at Rauch Chevrolet in Fort Collins Co. he said there was a Yellow Yenko Chevelle sitting right next to it. Does anybody know if this was a Yenko dealer or could that have been a Douglass Yenko Chevelle?

Old thread, but while seeking other cars, I came upon the below 69/70 Newspaper Ads w/ Yenkos for sale @ Rauch Motors Colorado, sorry the pics are so fuzzy. As usual, digging deeper lands where else but right here at the SYC…subject Yenko above likely the White one in the 01/70 Ad below, also Yellow Yenko Chevelle listed w/ it possibly the one from this old thread…https://yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=128095 Anyone w/ more on Rauch Motors or any of the Yenkos listed, please share. ![]() ~ Pete .

I wondered the same, was JD Yenko badging Copos he sold to other dealers? Seems crazy w/ Rauch like 1000 miles away, but JD cars indeed sold there. Maybe JD was related to or knew the Rauch family, Rauch Motors was in operation since the early 50’s, also previous to that, both Jack Rauch Sr. & Jr. were at Downtown Motors Fort Collins. All appears as if Rauch was NOT a Chevrolet Dealer, although they phrased their Ads as if they were, here’s a few below including final Auction after shutting down in ‘71 w/ financial problems. Otherwise, note the 01/17/71 Ad includes a Used ‘69 Yenko Chevelle, possibly the Yellow one as 01/70 Ad above but back used, as previously linked thread from years back w/ OP trying to track down his father’s car that disappeared after he had passed away? ![]() Lots to ponder, ![]() ~ Pete .

Rauch does not seem to be a dealer. They are not in the NCRS dealer database.
But they sure seem to have some almost new cars. Maybe they were picking them up at auction? The two Yenkos are the only ones marked as NEW (and since they were modified cars, they probably didn't run afoul of the dealer franchise rules).

Looks to me like they were a used dealer that specialized in high performance cars. Still happens today.
