Default Cobra with interesting story on BaT - CSX3272

1966 Shelby Cobra, CSX3272 - wrecked and rebodied in the 70's.

Cliff notes version if I understand correctly per the BaT ad:

Original CSX 3272 badly wrecked and a reproduction chassis and body were fitted with the original(?) drivetrain and certain interior bits that were transferred over. Repro chassis stamped with CSX 3272 numbers.

Wrecked original chassis with CSX 3272 stampings re-sold and went to Europe where it was rebuilt and retagged as CSX 3140.

Evidently a known car and listed as such in the SAAC Registry.

This one has some hair on it......will be interesting to see where it goes......

Beautiful car, but what is the exit plan if you buy it in the high six figure range. You would be better off with a legitimate Kirkham Cobra.

I think the Angliss body is good because it’s made off of the same body bucks by many of the same craftsmen as the 60’s version. Key(to me) is - did they graft the original firewall into the Angliss body? SAAC apparently recognizes it as the proper owner of the CSX number. I agree with Tim though - I believe that this is the same car that was for sale at $1 million (asking) with no takers.

Evidenty the original chassis is also for sale in Europe right now..........

The comments on the BaT auction are really interesting to read.

I read the comments and it sounded like at one point the dr who had the BAT car sold a pink slip to the guy with the original chassis? There was another comment about the Dr and I would probably not buy a car off him!
I don't know about pink slips but is that the same as a title?
