L36 heads/intake, what are they worth ?

I have a pair of 3931063 heads, both dated K29-8 and the matching 3931067 intake, date K30-8. Block assembly date is 12-04, so they were right off the build line. The engine appears to have a lot of miles on it, so the heads will likely need a rebuild.
Seems these aren't highly sought after parts and only desirable for an original rebuild. With that, how much can I expect to get for them?
I bought a set of 840 heads from Kurt for the build, so don't need these.
I'm also curious as to what I can expect to pay for an original L78 intake for the heads. No particular date needed. The engine will be installed in my '66 Chevelle and I'm guessing a 1966 date code will be difficult to find and more expensive than it will be worth to me.

The 063 heads are great platform for a mild street motor...with some larger valves and some minor massaging they will make good power. Some folks call them a semi-open chamber design...very similar to the later 290 heads.

These heads with some upgrades and the right cam will make some decent horsepower, especially on a smaller big block combo. Pricing depends upon if they are bare or complete or need to be gone thru. Special dates may command a premium...low end $500 pair up to $900 for really nice ones. I've seen singles sell pretty cheap...

The intake is heavy and not much help unless you are building a numbers engine...aluminum dual plane models are a better choice. The factory 163 intake is a pretty common part, and if you don't need a special date any one will do the trick. Originals can run $350 to over $500 depending upon dates and condition. You can even get a modern repro of this part from several sources.

Bigger valves... these have 2.19 intake 1.88 exhaust. From what I read, that is the bigger size ?

The factory 063 heads had 1.72 exhaust valves and 2.06 intake valves...it is possible your heads had some work done and the larger valves were installed. The oval port big block heads respond well to mild porting and improvements to the exhaust side of the program. The 2.19 and 1.88 valves were stock on the 291 big port heads in 1970...installing these in big block heads is a common upgrade.

I was reading conflicting info on the www. Some referenced the 427 heads as having the larger valves, while the 396 got the smaller ones. My heads are on the block and I haven't actually checked them, but I will guess they are the smaller valves.

The low horse 396 and 427 motors both used the same heads...the hi-perf versions had heads with larger valves and different ports/chambers.

Lots of incorrect info on the web...
