Default 1969 Camaro SS Std. Grille (black)

I have a '69 Camaro grille I picked up that appears like an NOS. One odd thing is the horizontal slat right below the hood latch cutout has an extra thick, like doubled, piece of material ( see 1st pic.). This may be a late made GM part? or it may not be a GM at all? Has anyone on here seen what I describe? I have a NOS grille I bought back in 1980 that I compared to this one.

I worked in the plastic and rubber molding industry for many years. That's a chunk of molding flash the operator neglected to clean out of the tooling between heats.
