Default Where to buy big truck parts

Putting 350 engine and 5 speed trans from a 1972 C50 into my 49 Studebaker farm truck.
Not exactly and LS conversion, but still an upgrade from the flathead six and crash box.

Motor mounts, clutch parts etc. are all different than a pickup truck.

Specifically, I need the clutch pivot ball that screws into the bell housing. Looks like the one for cars and pickups but is bigger.

Standard one for cars is 1/2 x 13 thread. This one is 9/16 x 11 thread.

I know some of you have some big truck experience. Any good source for parts?

Any help is appreciated.

Lynn, you may have to look for a good used one. I may have a brand new parts manual for the 72 C50 at home. I'll check tonight.

A good place here in CA for used parts would Specialty: https://www.specialtytruck.com/?page_id=49

For new – General Truck Parts in Chicago (they are very expensive): http://www.generaltruckparts.com

I will check them out.

Worst case scenario, I can make one. The guy pulling the engine (with a fork lift) hit something with this one and cracked it.

Lynn, my parts manual is for a 79 Chevy C6 - sorry about that. I was going to look up the part number.

Many years ago, I worked the counter in a gear shop selling drivetrain parts for trucks, 1/2 ton to class 8. Somewhere, I believe I still have most of my parts and service manuals. I'll check for the NP542 manuals. I'd be glad to give them to someone that could use them.

Lynn,
I think the part number is 3935265 and may still be available at your local GM dealer. It is listed as shaft ball to engine and the size is 5/8-11 thread.
