Normally I hate Facebook but between Ann's Illness and finding old friends and cars I have to admit it has been one of the best sites ever.
A little story. Back in the early 80's my brother lived in Chandler, AZ. Knowing that I was really into SS427 Impalas he would send me photos of ones he came across. His neighbor owned this one and they became good friends. I have kept these pictures all this time and always wondered what became of the car. Today while minding my own business a gentleman posts pictures of his 69 SS427 Sport Coupe. What immediately caught me eye was the "427 Turbo Jet" emblem on the decklid. Could it be? I posted on his FB page and sure enough, his dad bought him the car from the same guy my brother was friends with for $725 in 1985! His Birth date was 4/27/1969 so his dad thought this car was fitting. Neat to run across it again after all these years.

Super-cool, and probably a decent deal even in '85!

So is that trunk emblem a '66 Corvette 427 emblem that was modified?

My brother questioned the original owner back in the early 80's and he stated this emblem was on the car when he received it brand new and never modified the car in any way other than I believe a replacement shifter. We also thought that a 66 Vette emblem was used but there were no marks where the flags would have been cut off, just a smooth finish. The owner would not remove the emblem to check the part number. Maybe the current owner will.
