Anyone going?
I'll be watching on TV but the lineup of muscle cars doesn't compare to the Mecum Kissimmee auction. Dave |

Agree Dave. I went through the dockets for Thursday to Saturday and didn't see one 69 Chevelle, stock or otherwise. For today (Friday) there are a few interesting items coming up later in the day, but only a few. I don't get their TV channel so I pop in for streaming on occasion. Last week's Mecum was a standout in my opinion.

With the prices some of the cars are going for the room seems to be pretty empty.

Don,
There were several 69 Chevelle SS cars at B-J, but I believe every one of them was a 'tribute', 'recreation', or whatever. There is no doubt that Mecum Kissimmee is pulling some of the high quality original muscle cars away from B-J.

Just my $.02, but it seemed to me that BJ struggled to get anything stock and high dollar compared to past years. Highest bid/sold car was a 918 Porsche at roughly 1.5mm? used to see that routinely at BJ, seems likes the cars are becoming secondary there. BJ car wax and detailing spray anyone.?

Did not watch BJ much this year. Velocity kept up its alloying habit of cutting to commercials right when there is a 69 Camaro on deck. A couple of times of that and it get switched off

Modified cars with bling and 22" wheels are going for more money than stockers...for the most part.

It's cyclable.
10-15 years ago correct assembly line stock was all the rage, because modified street & clapped out driver quality cars were the majority. Those cars were soon bought up & restored back to assembly line stock,so now the minority modified is all the rage today. When everyone gets tired of seeing 22" wheel modifieds around their town, assembly line 14" stock wheeled cars will make a return, and SMOG parts prices will double. The one thing I can't accept @ all,are tall 22" circus wagon wheels on these 45 + year cars......nooooooooo. @ B-J Saturday, did you watch the 1970 Chevelle Shadow Grey LS-5 cnvt.(lot#1423),sky rocket & sell for $189,200.00,while the 1970 Forest Green LS-6 cnvt.(lot#1417) sold for less @ 176,000.00?....didn't see that coming. Or how about the 1970 Schwinn Cotton Picker sting-ray getting $2900.00. |
