Default Vandalia cruise in

Rachel and I hopped in the Chevelle tonight and took a drive over to Vandalia to check out a cruise-in we've not yet been to. I wound up working a little late today and we didn't get out the door `till just after 6:30, and we made it to the cruise just before 7:00. We managed to take a quick walk around the lot and Rachel was snapping up pics left & right.

Unfortunately, the cruise lets out around 7:30 and I'm told quite a few cars had already left. There was still some very nice iron there.

We're still learning how to use her phone to take pics, so I apologize in advance they aren't better quality. We'll try to get better shots next time.

That's it for tonight.

Next week I'm hoping to take the Chevelle to Kil-Kare, but the Suburban just went in the shop today for some fairly extensive work, so I need to see how that goes first.

Look for a report next week if everything pans out.

Thanks guys.

It's been a LONG time since I've participated in a cruise in with any significant number of cars. I'm aware that car show/cruise in etiquette is apparently a sore subject for many these days. As I was getting ready to back the car into the parking spot, some guy stood right in front of the car and gave me a long, strange look--I thought perhaps I wasn't supposed to park there so I motioned to the guy if that spot was taken--no response, just a stare. I know some people like to save a spot for someone, so I was trying to be courteous. Talk about feeling like an outsider.

As a side-note, one thing has risen up on my priority list with the car--I have got to get this thing converted over to power steering a.s.a.p. This thing is a royal PITA to maneuver into a parking spot.
