Default L78 pistons

Would you guys reuse original standard bore Pistons from a 67 l78 or should I get new Pistons from a new source. Stock 391 heads but a 5535 l88 cam might be used.

If there is even the slightest bit of bore wear I wouldn't even consider putting one back together with OEM pistons, but that's just my opinion. Ring seal is critical to performance and longevity, and w/o honing with a torque plate (which is something the factory did not do back in the day) the cylinder walls will never be straight, round & true in operation.

Even if you tried to hone the block with a torque plate now, by the time you got the bores straight you'd have too much piston to wall clearance.

Again...just my opinion.
