Hot water and soap! Just about any other type of cleaner I have used will effect the appearance of the cad plating and in some cases actually remove it altogether.

DO NOT use any of the rust remover liquids as they will rapidly remove the cad plating. Soap and water with a soft cloth and nothing abrasive.
