The 68 Harry Mann Camaro in the above thread is a great example. Real time capsule. Parked in 1970-71, when the kid got killed coming back from the drag strip with a friend. And, it's not a bare bones car...front & rear spoiler, 4 leaf f41, 410, disc brakes, power steering, rally wheels, to name a few. I would have put the extra money towards performance, too.
