Every time I went to a track to watch him back in the 60s & 70s he was like that maybe that is why he got nickname Grumpy. Saw him race at track when I was stationed above San Francisco in around Oct. Nov. 1966 and also saw Bruce Larson racing his USA 1 against a Mustang in match race I have on old 8mm film somewhere think track was Freemont Dragway. Also have film somewhere around 1966 or 1967 from Island Dragway with a Corvair being tested at the track with a 427 in the back seat area of the car and other cars and think got films from Vargo Dragway in Pa.
